Orthodox churches in Kazakhstan.

"If god does not hear me in the sky
I will turn my prayers to Satan.
If my desires are not pleasing to God
So the devil inspires desires in me!”

Omar Khayyam.

Ancient churches in Turkestan region.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin is located at an altitude of 352 meters above sea level, located in the northeastern part of the village of Akbulak (the former village of Panfilovo and Vrevskoye), in the valley of the Badam River, 8 kilometers to the east and slightly north of the village of Badam in the Ordabasy district in the Turkestan region.
In 1900, the Archbishop of Turkestan and Tashkent gave his consent and blessing for the construction of churches in Vrevskoye, Vannovka and Aleksandrovka. Churches were built in an economic way, the Tashkent tradesman Alexander Alexandrov took the contract for the construction.
On June 6, 1903, the military governor of the Syrdarya region reported on the completion of construction. On July 15, 1903, it was consecrated. The church, like two drops of water, is similar to the surviving churches in the village of Derbisek (the former name of Tobolino) of the Saryagash region and in the village of Karaaspan (the former name of Obruchevka) of the Turkestan region.
It was a typical building. The church building has been preserved. And now the most interesting, I quote: “The monument was conceived as a memorial - next to the temple it was supposed to build a chapel. Its project was developed by the architect A. Benois, but for a number of reasons it was not implemented ”(On the history of Christianity in Central Asia. XIX - XX centuries. Tashkent. 1998. P. 73 - 74.).
In Soviet times, the village club was located in the church.
Historical information about the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the village of Akbulak (community in the social network VK Ikansky fight.)
“1864. A few months before the Ikan battle. In June, the troops of two colonels Verevkin and Chernyaev take the cities of Turkestan and Aulieata (formerly Dzhambul and Taraz). The detachments got in touch and, according to Chernyaev, it was also necessary to capture Chimkent, where the roads from Turkestan and Aulieat converged.
On July 7, Chernyaev left Aulieat with 6 companies of infantry and a hundred Cossacks. Verevkin also sent from Turkestan to connect with Chernyaev 2 companies with a hundred Cossacks under the command of Captain Meyer.
About 6,000 Kokand troops with 4 guns gathered in Chimkent. It is known that Captain Meyer decided to be the first to attack Chimkent and, giving Chernyaev false information about his movement, moved straight to Chimkent.
At the Ak-bulak tract, 12 kilometers from Chimkent, he was surrounded by the Kokand army. His detachment (405 people, 3 guns, 1 rocket launcher) dug in and kept under siege for two days - on July 14 and 15. Upon learning of this, Chernyaev went to the rescue.
Ahead of the main forces, Chernyaev sent 75 mounted riflemen and 50 Siberian Cossacks. This forward detachment, not reaching 5 kilometers to Meyer, was surrounded by Kokand and about 4 hours fired back until Chernyaev approached.
Already on the night of July 16, Chernyaev approached the surrounded Meyer and the battle was over. An attempt to attack Chimkent was thwarted. The battle was called - "The Case of Captain Meyer or the Akbulak Battle."
Lieutenants of the 5th Orenburg Line Battalion Sukorko and Stepanov were awarded production in the following ranks for this battle. In December of the same year, they took part in the Ikan battle - they led a detachment that went to the rescue.
This short story is to make it clear what happened in the Ak-bulak tract 150 years ago. On the site of the tract, after some time, the village of Ak-bulak grew up, later renamed the village of Vrevskoye (there was such a Turkestan governor-general A.B. Vrevsky).
After World War II, the village was renamed Panfilovo in honor of Major General I.V. Panfilov. In 2001, the village was renamed again to Akbulak. In the book of A.Z. Kurlapov “Campaigns and service of the Yaik-Ural Cossacks”, published in 2013 on p. It was consecrated in December 1914 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the soldiers who fell near Ikan in December 1864.”
