Baba Tukty Shashty Aziz Mausoleum.

Jeep safari in Turkestan region.

“I bless you who long for truth, unity
And frank conversations with soul mates.
I am favorable to the unfortunate and destitute
And I avoid those who are fed up with life, satisfied with themselves”

Hikmets of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.

A trip from Shymkent to Almaty.

The mausoleum of Baba Tukty Shashty Aziz is located 7 kilometers south of the village of Kumkent, Sozak district of the Turkestan region, next to a spring and a small lake formed from numerous artesian wells that are nearby.
The lake is inhabited by fish. There are two mausoleums in this area. One of the mausoleums of Baba Tukty Shashty Aziz is located next to the pond, dates from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, rebuilt several times, final construction in 2006.
The mausoleum was completely rebuilt on an old rubble brick foundation in front masonry. Single chamber mausoleum of the facade composition. The volume of the quadrangle was crowned with a spherical dome on a cylindrical drum.
The facades are smooth, without decor. The main one - with the entrance in the center - is accented by a shallow niche and 2 towers at the corners of the building. In the interior of the square room there are arches on which the dome rests. The wall is plastered and whitewashed.
A brick gravestone is installed in the center of the room. The old mausoleum does not exist now.
