Rare monuments of Kyzylorda region.
The Orynbay-kala settlement is located 41 kilometers south-west of the Chirik rabat ancient settlement and 9.6 kilometers south-west of the Kirkireli village, 33 kilometers from the border with Uzbekistan, in the south of the Zhalagash district of the Kyzylorda region.
The Orynbay-kala settlement is located among the sands of Kyzylkum on the right bank of the drying up channel of Zhanadarya. The settlement is rectangular in plan, measuring 400 x 300 meters, surrounded by quadrangular ramparts.
The preserved height of the wall is 1 - 1.5 meters. A citadel is located in the center of the settlement. The citadel has 12 rooms 31 x 20 meters in size, walls up to 4 meters high and 70 cm thick. Examination of the outer fortress wall revealed a moat surrounding the settlement.
The remains of a three-room mosque have been preserved on the site. The mosque measures 8.5 x 7.5 meters, the height of the preserved walls is up to 2 meters, and the thickness is 50 cm, built by the method of pakhsovo masonry and from adobe bricks.
The gates to the settlement are on the south side.
