Lake Kobeituz.

Trip to Kobeituz lake near Ereimentau town.

“She is everywhere; it touches the past and prepares the future; it flows under the poles and is present at high altitudes. If there is something truly mysterious on this planet, it is water."

Natural sights of Akmola region.

Salty, closed lake Kobeituz (Kaz. Kobeytuz) is located in the southeast of the North-Kazakh plain, in the Teniz lake depression in the interfluve of Olenty and Sileti. The lake is located at an altitude of 253 meters above sea level, on the territory of the Ereimentau district of the Akmola region, 30 kilometers north-east of the town of Ereimentau, 16 kilometers north-west of the Ulenty railway station.
The bitter salt lake Teniz is located 3 kilometers to the west on the Kobeituz lake. The northern and eastern sides of the lake have an almost rounded shape, the western and southern sides of the lake are indented by bays and peninsulas.
The length of the lake, from north to south, is 3425 meters, the greatest width in the middle part is 2615 meters. From time to time the lake turns pink. It is believed that the presence of the algae Dunaliella brackish gives the water a pink tint.
The lake is a tourist attraction of the Akmola region. In the summer of 2020, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Akmola Region announced a competition for the separate use of Lake Kobeituz, for a period of 49 years.
