Residential building of merchant P.S. Silina (formerly the 2nd company of the Red Guard, the methodological center of the regional department of culture, the regional philharmonic society, the regional department of culture, the building of the medical center of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
Residential building of merchant P.S. Silina is a two-story, quadrangular building in plan. Located in the center of the historical part of the city. P.S. Silin is one of the brightest representatives of the wave of merchants in the city of Akmolinsk at the turn of the XIXth and early XXth centuries.
The monument is associated with the revolutionary period in the history of the city. The decision of the district council’s meeting of March 15, 1918 adopted a resolution to organize the Red Guard in Akmolinsk to protect the interests of the working people from the encroachments of the bourgeoisie.
Among the organizers were Shlyashenko, Monin, 3-road. Mikhail Avdeev, a Baltic sailor sent to Akmolinsk in December 1917 on the instructions of the St. Petersburg Military Revolutionary Committee and the Central Committee of the RCP (b), was appointed commander.
The Red Guard consisted of two companies: the headquarters and the first company were located in the building of the former printing house, the second company was located in the building of the house of the merchant Silin.
In the 90s. The twentieth century in the building was the medical center of the Office of Presidential Affairs, in 1997-98 - the headquarters of the Commission for the redeployment of the capital. On May 19, 2005, during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan, the embassy of Belarus in the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened in the building.
The building area is over 363 square meters. Since 2019, the building was transferred to the State Archive of the city of Nur Sultan.
