National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located at an altitude of 351 meters above sea level, located on Tauelsyzdyk street, 54 between Shamshi Kaldayakov and Zhumeken Nazhimedenov streets, 1.9 kilometers to the east and slightly south of the Ak-Orda presidential residence, in the northeast parts of Astana. 
The museum is located on the main square of the country - Independence Square, harmoniously fitting into a single architectural ensemble with the Kazakh Eli monument, the Palace of Independence, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, the Khazret Sultan Cathedral Mosque and the National University of Arts.
National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan Respublikasy Ұlttyk muzeyі) - was opened on July 2, 2014. It is the largest museum in the country. The total area of the land plot is 9.9 hectares, the area of buildings is 74,000 square meters, the exhibition area is 14,095 square meters, the funds amount to 8,000 square meters. 
National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan is represented by following 6 halls: 
Hall of Ancient and Medieval History in National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan. 
The exposition of the hall is represented by tools and household items of the Stone Age, archaeological objects of the Bronze and Iron Ages, as well as artifacts of the medieval history of Kazakhstan (ceramics, numismatics, tools). 
Hall of History in National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan. 
The exposition of the hall shows the history of Kazakhstan from the 15th to the 11th centuries. Ancient photographs and books, household utensils and weapons of Kazakh warriors are exhibited here. The presented material tells about the revolution, the repressions and famine that followed it, about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, the Afghan conflict and the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. Other aspects of the XXth century are also touched upon - the development of virgin lands, the development of cities, industry and science. 
Hall of gold in National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan. 
The exposition of the hall demonstrates gold items of the ancient nomads of Kazakhstan - unique finds from archaeological excavations. This is the “Golden Man” found on the Issyk mound, not far from Almaty, the Sarmatian warrior in Atyrau, as well as priceless finds from the settlements of Chilikty and Berel, and the Taldy burial ground. 
Hall of Ethnography in National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan. 
The exposition of the hall is represented by jewelry, national clothing, traditional Kazakh housing - a yurt, as well as household items of the Kazakh people. 
Hall of Independent Kazakhstan in National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan. 
The exposition of the hall is widely and comprehensively represented by the history, politics, economics, culture and art of modern Kazakhstan. 
Hall of Astana in National Museum of Republic of Kazakhstan. 
The exposition of the hall reveals the history of the development of the capital of Kazakhstan. The hall displays photographs, plans, diagrams, models, archival documents and objects. A dynamic model of Astana is installed in the Astana hall. 
Hall of Contemporary Art. 
The exposition of the hall is represented by works from the end of the last and beginning of the present century. These are artistic works of Kazakh masters - paintings, graphics, lithographs, installations and much more.
National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the youngest and largest museum in Central Asia. The museum was created as part of the implementation of the State Program “Cultural Heritage” on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev.
On July 2, 2013, Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 675 was issued on the creation of the republican state institution “National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan” of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the largest museum in Central Asia. By order of the Head of State, D. Mynbai was appointed director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Many values identified within the framework of the state program "Cultural Heritage" make up the invaluable fund of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The museum building attracts the eye with its unusual external shape.
The structure of the museum for the study of national heritage is represented by a research institute. There are also premises for a children's museum, a children's creativity center, two exhibition halls, restoration workshops, laboratories, professional storage facilities, a scientific library with a reading room, a conference room, and souvenir kiosks.
The museum is equipped with equipment that meets international standards; modern exhibition technologies are used for exhibitions: a unique curved screen with special content, working in two halls, a media floor, a dynamic layout of the central part of modern Astana, numerous media screens, holograms, LED technology, touch kiosks, multimedia guide providing information in three languages.
