Yu. N. Malakhov forever enlisted in the lists of personnel of the tank unit. He was buried in the city of Gusev, Kaliningrad region. The trawler of the Kaliningrad fishing fleet is named after him. Born in 1925 in Orenburg in a working class family.

At the same time, four self-propelled guns, up to 100 motor vehicles and over 50 fascists, were destroyed. Distinguished Yuri Malakhov was appointed commander of a tank platoon. In subsequent battles, he performed a feat after a feat. In the fall of the forty-fourth guardsmen crossed the border of East Prussia and fought stubborn battles with the enemy.
The brigade commander V.K. Shanin recalls:
- It was October 20, 1944: acting in the lead patrol, the commander of the tank platoon Malakhov burst into the enemy’s location, destroyed the German tiger tank and crushed two anti-tank guns with caterpillars, which ensured the deployment and successful advance of the entire tank battalion on the west bank of the Pissa River .
Continuing the further offensive, Malakhov's platoon with a daring attack captured the ferry across the Rominte River, and then, overcoming the stubborn resistance of the enemy, burst into the depths of its defense and started an unequal battle with six tanks.
Yuri set fire to two enemy vehicles, crushed the anti-aircraft mount with caterpillars. Hitlerites increased fire on our tanks. Malakhov’s burning tank, like a fiery tornado, rushed into his last attack on an enemy battery. There was a strong explosion... Malakhov died the death of the brave along with the crew.
He was buried in the village of Kalininskoye (near the city of Gusev) in the Kaliningrad region, where he was erected an obelisk.
