Saudakent, Sugulkhan, Sulkhan, a medieval settlement located on the southeastern outskirts of the village of Baikadam in the Zhambul region. It is IX – XV centuries. Located on the caravan route, was a significant trade and craft center.
Saudakent is a mound measuring 160 x 230 meters, 6 meters high. The upper platform is surrounded by an earthen rampart about 2 meters high with the remains of 11 towers. The ruins of a citadel 2 meters high have been preserved.
Rabad is adjacent to the city ridge, surrounded by an earthen rampart. It was investigated in 1947 by the South Kazakhstan Archaeological Expedition under the leadership. A.N. Bernshtam, Fragments of vessels, fragments of clay vessels were found.
