Itineraries in Tajikistan.

“An expedition is a school in which the process of knowing nature, folk experience, and the wisdom of people is endless. Travels expand the colorful fan of human knowledge”

What to see in Tajikistan?

The Mushketov Glacier is located in the Sangvor region of Tajikistan in the northwestern part of the ridge of the Academy Nauk and belongs to the Muksu river basin. The length of the Mushketov glacier is 14.0 kilometers, an area of 17.1 square kilometers.
The moraine deposits before its end indicate that in the past a glacier was blocking the valley of the Muksu River and above the ice dam, the Dodarek Lake formed 12 kilometers long up to 2 kilometers wide. This lake had 2 levels, and on the lower of them existed for about 70 years.
Then the glacier retreated, and the lake was lowered (Markov, 1936). Sharp movement of this glacier occurred between 1904 and 1910, when its convex, fractured end was in the valley of the Muksu River (Korzhenevsky. 1922).
Then the glacier retreated deep into the gorge of the Karasel River and now ends at an altitude of 2870 meters above sea level.
