History of monuments in Kyzylorda region.

The mausoleum of Kara-Sopa is located in the Zhanakorgan district of the Kyzylorda region, 6.5 kilometers south just west of the city of Zhanakorgan and 5.1 kilometers north-east of the village of Zhanaryk. The mausoleum (kumbez) ​​of Kara-Sopa (kaz. Karasopy Kambezi) is an architectural monument of the XVIIIth - XIXth centuries, the author of the construction is unknown.
The rectangular plan of the building, consisting of the main room (kabyrkhan) and the ledge (ayvan) of the entrance, has dimensions of 12.34 × 8.70 meters. The main volume of the structure, which is a parallelepiped, is surrounded by a simple cornice made up of brick brackets.
A square room measuring 6.5 × 6.5 meters is covered with a hemispherical dome resting on an octagonal drum. The dimensions in the plan are 14 × 9 meters, the height is 9 meters, at the top there are 8 crescents.
The door is facing the kubyly, in front of it is the grave of Kara-Sopa. The mausoleum of Kara-Sopa was built in the style of Islamic architecture. Historical figures of Korasan ata, Kylyshty ata, Aykozha and others are buried here.
In the architecture of that time, one can notice the desire of architects to create such a monument so that the spirit of a deceased person would be pleased with their eternal home. The mausoleum of Kara-Sopa has not been studied. 
According to folk legends, Karasopy adopted a 5-year-old Aikozhu, visited Mecca and Bukhara with him. Later, the son of Aykozha Atakozha built the Karasopa mausoleum (late XVIIIth century).  In 1982, the mausoleum of Kara-Sopa was included in the list of historical and cultural monuments of republican significance and is under state protection.
