Kosinenko Glacier is located in the Murgab district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan. The length of the glacier is 15 kilometers, the area of the North Tanymas glacier is 36.7 square kilometers.
Kosinenko Glacier is the largest glacier on the northern slope of the North Tanymas ridge. It is a complex valley glacier with a well-developed feeding area located at the junction of the North Tanymas ridge with the Kyzkurgan ridge.
On the map of 1928 it is shown as a tributary of the Fedchenko Glacier, however in 1934 its tongue deviated from the main trunk by 2 kilometers, and by 1949 this distance increased to 6 kilometers, and a dammed lake was formed in the estuary of the valley, which exists even now.
