Glacier North Tanymas.

Tajikistan private tour.

“I remember the gorge along which the four of us headed
through the Burkhan-Buddha ridge to Tibet without a penny
half-starved, ragged - in a word, the poor are materially
but rich in moral strength...”

N.M. Przhevalsky. "The Third Journey to Central Asia 1879 - 1880"

The History Tajikistan - Silk Road Adventures.

The North Tanymas Glacier is located in the Murghab region of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan. The length of the glacier is 18 kilometers, the area of the North Tanymas glacier is 55.0 square kilometers.
The North Tanymas Glacier has a similar structure as the Nalivkina Glacier. The ice section between these glaciers - the Aral Pass - is weakly expressed. At the eastern end of the Aral ridge, the North Tanimas glacier sharply turns to south and steep narrow bend slides along the bottom of a deep gorge, ending in 200 meters above the thalwega river Tanymas at an altitude of 3720 meters above sea level.
Glacier snout difficult to pass due to the steepness and widespread development of cracks. East of the North Tanymas Glacier, glaciers become smaller.
