Trip from Shymkent to village of Koksaek.

Church of St. George the Victorious is located at an altitude of 934 meters above sea level, located on Tole bi street (no number), in the central part of the village of Koksaek in the Tolebi district of the Turkestan region.
The Orthodox Church of St. George the Victorious was built in 1882 thanks to funding from parishioners. During Soviet times, like most religious buildings, it was closed and served as various institutions until it reopened in 1991 and was restored in 2002.
Belongs to the Chimkent diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 1991, by decision of the Government of Kazakhstan, the building was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church and was re-opened to parishioners.
The façade, dome and bell were restored by entrepreneurs from the city of Shymkent. In 2002, restoration was completed and the temple was consecrated by Bishop Eleutherius in the name of the Great Martyr George the Victorious.
The quadrangle of the temple made of light pink brick is covered with a dome; on the eastern side it is adjacent to a three-part altar with faceted apses, on the western side there is a refectory and a belfry above the entrance.
The entrances to the temple and the refectory are decorated with portals. The decorative quality of the facades is emphasized by elongated arched windows with keel-shaped windows and rusticated platbands. Nearby, 200 meters from the temple, there is a source of holy water that is used for baptism.
According to parishioners, it has healing properties - for cleansing and healing, it is usually customary to immerse oneself in the source 3 times. The Temple of the Great Martyr George is decorated with many icons and relics. Unlike many Orthodox churches, candles are available to visitors free of charge.
