1. Nezhigon lake.

Trip from Penjikent on lake Nezhigon.

“Sweetness shudders through the land as if, freed from the heat, nature’d scooped spring waters in her hand and splashed her burning feet”

Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev. “Summer evening”.

Natural sights of Fany Mountains.

Lake Nezhigon (Mizhigon, translated from Tajik - Eyelash) is located at an altitude of 1640 meters above sea level, located north of the Gissar ridge and in the southern part of the Zeravshan ridge, between the Peshak mountains in the east and Daurich mountains in the west, in the Shing river valley, in 1 a kilometer south of the village of Rashtan in the Penjikent region of the Sughd region.
On the east side, the Rashnabolosou River flows into the lake. The distance from Penjikent through the village of Sufien and the village of Yangi Kishlok to Lake Mizhgon is 43 kilometers. The first (northern) lake in the cascade of Marguzor lakes is the most beautiful lake Nezhigon.
The distance from Lake Nezhigon to Lake Soya is 2 kilometers. The road runs along the left (western) side of the lake. The greatest length of Lake Nezhigon from south to north is 729 meters, the greatest width in the southern part of the lake is 113 meters.
Lake Nezhigon is the pearl of the entire chain of Marguzor lakes. It is small in size and is sandwiched by steep rocky cliffs. The turquoise water that has filled the deep basin seems to have frozen. The dome of a snowy mountain hanging over the lake glows with a delicate halo and pleases the eye with various colors.
The water in the lake is quite warm and you can swim in it. Marguzor lakes and especially Nezhigon are beautiful with an unusual color of water. The minerals dissolved in this water give it a blue color even in the foam of the Shing River breakers.
When the stormy Shing spills over the calm surface of the lake, the water acquires a thick rich color from blue to purple. Behind Lake Nezhigon, the road climbs with several turns of serpentine to a steep dammed bulkhead that separates it from the second lake - Soya.
A good view of Lake Nezhigon opens from the bridge.
