Detailed program of tour day after day to Katon-Karagay nature park:

Leisure package tour to Katon-Karagay park.

Day 1. Ust-Kamenogorsk - lake Karakol (Yazevoe) (495 km).

Transfer: Ust-Kamenogorsk - the Nukhtarminsky bridge (188 km). 
Arrival at the Bukhtarma Bridge, short walk in the surrounding area.
Transfer: Bukhtarma Bridge – Katon-Karagay village (208 km).
Lunch in Katon-Karagay village.
Transfer: Katon-Karagay village – Uryl village (60 km).
Stop in Uryl village for shopping. There will be no shops further along the route.
Transfer: Uryl village – Berel village – bridge over the Belaya Berel River – Karaayryk (Yazovka) village – Yazovy Waterfall (50 km).
Arrival at Lake Karakol (Yazevoye).
Accommodation in guesthouses or tents, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2. Lake Karakol (Yazevoye). Visit to Yazovyi falls  (5 + 5 km).

Breakfast. The lake Karakol (Yazevoye) is a fascinating part of our route across the Kazakhstan Altai. The lake is in the picturesque valley located at the height of 1656 m. a. s. l. Lake length, from the North on the South 3 kilometers, width is 600 meters.
The lake rather warm during the summer period, it is possible to swim in the lake. In a clear weather from the coast of the lake the magnificent view on double tops of Mount Belukha of 4506 meters above sea level opens. Only one species of fish - an lives in the lake.
Day of rest on the lake Karakol (Yazevoye). Lunch.
Walks in the environs of the lake. Walk on the falls Yazovyi (5 km). 
Return to the camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 3. Lake Karakol (Yazevoye). Walk on the thrown sawmill which is in a northeast part of the lake (5 + 5 = 10 km).

Breakfast. Color of water in the lake Karakol (Yazevoye) yellow and green, transparency of water to 4,2 meters. Color of water is influenced by silt and seaweed which filled the lake. Coast are formed by sand, pebble and boulders. The river Yazevoe about the North and several small anonymous rivers flows into the lake.
Follows from the lake - the river Yazovay on which, in the 5th kilometers lower on a current, several waterfall cascades were formed. Walk on the thrown sawmill which is in a northeast part of the lake (5 km). Lunch. Here walks in vicinities. Return to the lake Yazevoe, dinner and overnight.

Day 4. Lake Karakol (Yazevoye) - environs * health resort Rakhmanovsky klyuchi (38 km).

Breakfast. Transfer: the lake Yazevoye - the settlement of Yazovka - the bridge through river  Belaya Berel – river Belaya Berel - the Usy batyra falls on the river Arsan (34 km).
Walk on falls (600 + 600 = 1200 meters).

Further transfer: the Usy batyra falls - the lake Arasan (Small Rakhmanovskoye) (2 km).
Walk in the environs of the lake.
Transfer: the lake Arasan - health resort Rakhmanovsky klyuchi (2 km).
Arrival in Health resort, accommodation in the tents, lunch.
After a lunch walk on hiking footpaths and wooden cover by a southwest and northwest part of the lake (2 km).
Dinner and overnight.

Day 5. Environs health resort Rakhmanovsky klyuchi. Walk on pass Radostnyi (3 + 3 = 6 km).

Breakfast. Walk on the pass of Radostnyi 2306 meters high above sea level.
The pass is between two rivers Arasan and Black Berel. From the pass, it is far on the South, the picturesque panorama to Katun Range and Mount Belukha high 4506 m. a. s. l. opens. Only 30 kilometers, separate us from the pass Radostnyi to Mount Belukha top now.
In good weather it is possible to see the highest part of Katun Range which was stretched in the width direction. From height of bird's flight in the southeast we will enjoy a view of Rakhmanovsky lake which was stretched from the northwest on the southeast in the valley of the river Arasan.
Return to tent camp on resort Rakhmanovsky klyuchi, dinner and overnight.

Day 6. Health resort Rakhmanovsky klyuchi. Walk by boats on Rakhmanovsky falls (2 + 2 = 6 km).

Breakfast. Today on by boats we will make walk on the Rakhmanovsky lake on Rakhmanovsky falls which are in 2 kilometers on northeast side of the lake. The falls have the poetic name of the Volosy of Veronika. Falls water falling height - 30 meters.
We will climb to falls the right side of the river, a footpath which is laid between rocks and fir-trees. Extent of foot walk near (1 + 1 = 2 km). The falls are formed from an anonymous stream, the stream begins from three small thin lakes located the cascade at the height of 2265 m. a. s. l.
A lunch in an arbor on the bank of the lake.
Return to tent camp resort dinner and overnight.

Day 7. Environs resort Rakhmanovsky klyuchi - Ust-Kamenogorsk (506 km).

Breakfast. Return to Ust-Kamenogorsk. Transfer: Rakhmanovskie Klyuchi Sanatorium - Berel village - Uryl village (50 km).
Stop in Uryl village for shopping.
Transfer: Uryl village - Katon-Karagay village (60 km).
Lunch at a café.
Transfer: Katon-Karagay village - Bukhtarma bridge (208 km).
Transfer: Bukhtarma bridge - Ust-Kamenogorsk (188 km)

Arrival in Ust-Kamenogorsk, end of the tour.

* The note:

The Rakhmanovskie Klyuchi sanatorium announced its closure and ceased accepting guests in June 2021. The reopening date for the sanatorium is unknown.
In addition to the sanatorium, accommodation is currently available (December 2025) at the only guesthouse, "Sunrise Rakhmani," which is already booked until August 2026.

St. Andrew's Cathedral in Ust-Kamenogorsk (Oskemen). This Orthodox church was built between 2001 and 2007. The cathedral can accommodate approximately 2,000 people. The first service in the building took place on August 6, 2006. The project architect is Yuri Mikhailovich Trashkov.Glory Monument in Ust-Kamenogorsk, at sunset. The memorial is dedicated to those who fell in the Great Patriotic War. The Eternal Flame burns in the center of the composition. The monument is designed in the style of socialist realism and includes dramatic bas-reliefs. The monument is located in Victory Park. Lake Karakol (Yazevoye) located in the Katon-Karagay Nature Park. 04 Snow-covered Bergenia leaves.Snow-covered Bergenia leaves.A bridge under construction across the Bukhtarma Reservoir in the East Kazakhstan Region. This is one of the largest road infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan in recent years. The bridge connects the two banks of the largest artificial reservoir. Its construction significantly reduced the distance between settlements.Lake Karakol (Yazevoye) is located in a picturesque valley at an altitude of 1,656 meters above sea level. The lake is 3 kilometers long from north to south and 600 meters wide.Mount Belukha, the highest peak in Siberia and the Altai Mountains, is located on the border of Kazakhstan and Russia. The mountain has two peaks: the Eastern (4,506 m above sea level) and the Western (4,440 m above sea level). In Kazakhstan, the mountain is known as Muztau, which translates as "Ice Mountain" because its peaks are permanently covered in snow and ice. Between the two peaks is the Belukha Saddle at an altitude of approximately 4,000 m. a. s. l. The Belukha massif contains 169 glaciers, including the Great and Small Berel Glaciers in Kazakhstan.Siberian larch (Larix sibirica) and other conifers in autumn or winter. Siberian larch (Larix sibirica) is a species of conifer that, unlike most conifers, sheds its needles in winter, an adaptation to the harsh climate with temperatures reaching -70°C.The Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) near Lake Rakhmanovskoye can have a variety of fur colors, including black, as shown in the photograph. This species of tree squirrel is widespread throughout Eurasia. Squirrels are omnivorous, but primarily feed on plant matter and live in trees. Fur color can range from bright red to dark brown or black.Lake Rakhmanovskoye is located at an altitude of 1,725 meters above sea level in the deep valley of the Arasanka River, a tributary of the Belaya River. The lake's water is a stunning greenish-blue color and very clear. The lake is surrounded by majestic mountains, ancient cedars, and spruce trees. Near the lake are thermal mineral springs, the water of which contains radon.Tourist camp on Lake Karakol (Yazevoye) in the Katon-Karagay Nature Park.Gray domestic rabbits of the Soviet Chinchilla breed on Lake Rakhmanovskoye. Soviet Chinchilla rabbits are distinguished by their strong build, large size, and thick coat. These breeds are prized for both meat and fur, and are also popular as pets due to their calm disposition. Despite the breed's name, "chinchilla," rabbits are not related to chinchillas; they belong to the order Lagomorpha.Lake Rakhmanovskoye, located in the Katon-Karagay National Nature Park in the East Kazakhstan Region. The lake is located at an altitude of 1,760 meters above sea level. Surrounded by mountains covered with pine forest, it is known for its thermal radon springs, which, according to legend, have healing properties. Near the lake is the Rakhmanovskie Klyuchi spa resort.
